MoviePlayer is the standard application for playing movies on the Macintosh—when you double click a QuickTime movie, MoviePlayer is launched. MoviePlayer is located in the folder titled MoviePlayer.
MoviePlayer's application memory size is preset to 1,000K. This size will normally work well for short movies. You may find that playback of higher data-rate movies is not smooth with this pre-configured setting. If you experience this, increase the memory size in the MoviePlayer's Get Info dialog box.
Plug-In Files
There are two plug-in files: Authoring Extras and Goodies. They allow you to use many additional features, from within MoviePlayer, in creating your own movies. Some of the added features include:
-editing a movie's text track
-adding or editing copyright information
-adding or switching to a different color table
-specifying track preloading
To utilize these and many more authoring features, place the plug-ins in the same folder as MoviePlayer.
Sample Movies
To get you started, various types of movies are provided as demos within separate folders.
